Rainwear is looking particularly stylish this fall—and as a born-and-raised Norwegian, I couldn’t be happier. Finally, a trend that works with our weather!
I have to be honest though… I’ve always thought of rainwear as a practical afterthought, sometimes even a fashion faux pas. But the fall/winter 2026 runways have really made me reconsider: yes, wet-weather dressing can actually feel just as intentional as any other look.
Brands like Tom Ford, Saint Laurent, Lacoste, Tod`s, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Loewe and TWP have shown everything from rain jackets and rain skirts to rubber boots and rain trenches, offering me plenty of ideas for embracing the season’s inevitable downpours. I am so inspired! Hopefully, they’ll inspire you too.
Lacoste
Lacoste showed a really cool all-white outfit, and I love how the details and print on the piece underneath the jacket make the monochrome look feel more interesting. Just steer clear of muddy puddles with this one, though!

TWP
In their collection, TWP leaned into earthy tones, with rain boots taking centre stage. Especially this whole look makes me want to grab a straw basket and head out to pick apples—or spend a little time in the garden. Anyone else?

Loewe
Loewe showed the look I can most see myself wearing this season: an oversized wool coat paired with bright red rain boots. Now I just need to get my hands on a pair of red Hunters…
And how cool is this glossy, plastic-looking dress? I love how it’s styled with thick black tights and rubber shoes.

Calvin Klein
A lightweight, bright red rain jacket paired with white accessories—ballet sneakers and gloves—and sleek, slicked-back hair. So chic!

Tod’s
At Tod’s, Matteo Tamburini reimagined the rain poncho in leather, giving the practical staple a luxurious twist. Incredible!

Tom Ford
A ….. rain skirt? I certainly hadn’t thought of that—but Tom Ford makes it look so effortless with a black turtleneck, a red lip and dark sunglasses.
Also, adding this rain hat to a very basic, simple outfit just elevates it immediately. It’s a need!

Burberry
Burberry brings a sultry edge to rainwear this fall, pairing purple with glossy black. Its classic trench coats get a fresh twist with ruffled collars and shiny fabrics featuring the signature Nova check.

Saint Laurent
This head-to-toe brown look has such a femme fatale feel—sexy, rich and almost good enough to eat.

After seeing these looks, I’m ready to treat rainwear as the starting point for an outfit this fall. For those of us living in Norway, there’s something appealing about making the clothes we need feel like the clothes we want to wear. From bright red rain boots to a glossy trench, I’ve found plenty of inspiration for my own wardrobe.
So: This season, the forecast might just become part of the styling inspiration.
